this is pretty scary, it makes me think how bad our future could turn out to be ..

Yeah; not too much optimism about our future. I guess all we can do is wait and hope.

This is not proof that times will be bad, just proof that people believe it will be bad. They could be wrong.

i feel like other people's pessimism are rubbing off and could drive this country the wrong way if it does persist

Yeah this can't be good living in a country full of pessimistic people is going to be terrible

I feel that some of the suffering comes from the psycological factors. Therefore if people would just beileve a little more in the United States economy things might not look so bad right now.

I have faith that the American people will eventually come around but when you hear every other day "the dow plunged another 700 points, economist are certain of recession, wall street is collapsing, auto companies need money before the fall apart, congress passing a third bailout package, and the fed is pulling its hair out trying to fix it", its hard to find the "bright side" of all this.

Hopefully those guesstimations are wrong...otherwise life is going to suck in the future.

All these speculations are making me sad.We just need to do our old routine with a few adjustments and we will come out ok.

It's sad that so many people have put themselves in positions where they feel that their lives are going to get worse, but that's just it-- people have done this to themselves. As long as we are wise about where we invest, who we vote for to represent our interests, and how much we save, we can pretty much stay in control of a lot that will happen in our futures. I guess I'm kind of pitiless. :-/

This is scary! Many people are suffering because of the breakdown of the economy and those who aren't are expecting bad things to eventually come their way. our college yrs will be interestingg!!

People need to stop thinking that things will be bad because the more pessimistic people are the more likely things will get bad! People just need to focus on how to improve the economy and get things better instead of worrying about what will come!

Well i wont have to worry too much about it because right after i graduate i am going on my mission! Perhaps things will get a little better after two years. This recession wont be the end of the world like some people think. We will bounce out. Recessions happen

I hope that we're in the trough of this recession right now. That way in a few years it will be over with when I start medical school.

The thought of having to go through college in one of the worst economic times ever is pretty scary. And, the fact that everyone is doubtful of the future is also scary.
