i don't know if it'll work for most people, but it's a really cool idea.
i'd think that for certain people it'd be a very valid source of motivation.

first, why don't parents just talk to their kids face to face? second, how is something that says something over and over again going to have any effect on teens. third, they can just take the thing off. fourth, people will do what they will do anyway. no little talking trinket will change their mind if they really want to do drugs.

Haha, wow you would think that scams would arise with a recession, but this is going a little on the crazy side. If parents don't talk to their children face to face, do they really expect that a bracelet will change anything? Don't answer that, of course there are parent who do, and therefore waste there money on something that isn't going to work. But on a lighter note, they do look pretty cool.......

HAHAHAHA. Knowing my parents, they'll probably just use it to remind me to pick up some bread on the way home from school.

It's just another desperate novelty to battle drugs. And to earn money in the process. Why not just educate children about drugs instead of waste money on these bracelets that will probably end up sounding like E.T. recordings when it starts running out of batteries or something?

I think for some people it could work. That is until the kids forget what their parents said, so then it's just different shaped beads.

It could work for some people. Like some girls wear promise rings that symbol their vow to stay pure till marriage. But if someone really wants to use, they will. If someone really wants to have sex, they will. Something tangable won't work if they don't have the mind to stay away.

I would say that something like that would work about the same as a purity ring. If the person wearing the bracelet believes in being clean then it will work but if they don't have the drive to stay clean then it won't work. The bracelet is nothing more than a symbol and even if someone wears it, it doesn't mean they are true to its meaning

Probably not.... addicts will be addicts if their parents love them or not!

I doubt this will work for parents trying to keep their kids from doing drugs. I know in Arizona meth was a big deal so they started making these awful and really scarey commercials and bilboards of kids losing teeth, scratching their own skin off, all kinds of stuff. I think thats a better tactic than these bracelets. But they are pretty neat though.

Those bracelets are pretty cool and i would hope that they do help to motivate some people.

pretty spiffy idea :]

i think it would be kind of annoying to be wearing your parents voice on your wrist.a teen will either make the right choice or not.yes, parental motivation is huge, thats why i choose not to do things that displease them, but i dont need to wear their voice.weird.

To me, this bracelet is a bad idea. I'm pretty sure that all parents have already told their kids not to do drugs, so having it repeated to them would be a waste.

nope.... addicts need a miracle and nothing short of it....

The bracelets are cool but there is no way in heck they would work! If someone is thinking about doing drugs they arent going to look at their wrist and think,"hmm my mommy gave me this bracelet so i better pass." People do all kinds of things their parents dont want them to eventhough they know they wouldnt approve!

I really don't believe this would work.

i think the bracelts are pretty cool but i dont really know if they would work. maybe when the kid is about to do the drug and they look down and see the bracelt maybe it could change their idea but then again most kids are hard headed and probably wouldnt wear it anyways. so it could really go both ways.

I really don't think a bracelet can stop kids from doing drugs, but I guess it's the thought that counts.

This is honestly a waste of plastic. No teenager wants their parents voice following them around nagging constantly. I would personally take a pair of wire cutters to this if my parents felt the urge to waste their money on this. I already make good enough decisions to run my life in a positive manner.

I agree with colton in both respects

the whole idea of this is kind of flawed. it's like giving parents a choice: a) they could be active parents, using discipline and love to get their point across, ORRRR b) they could just put a bracelet that puts a message into their kids minds.

i prefer choice a.

and anyways, "actions speak louder than words," right?

isnt this kind of like a promise ring that talks to you?
i don't think it will be very effective. the kids who don't listen to their parents in the first place certainly won't listen any better when their parents' words are wrapped around their wrists.

fordarnett6 said...

introducing a new bracelet that lets it to where now you really can't get away from your parents no matter what you do... don't know how persuasive this will be but it might be just the last bit of push needed to make the kid do the right thing

This is a dumb idea a bracelet on your wrist wont keep you from doing drugs. If you want your child to stop or be informed of drugs the parents need to talk to their kids face to face.

I seriously doubt that it would work. It would end up at the bottom a jewelry box or maybe even the trash.
