NEW YORK: A New York surgeon who donated a kidney to his now estranged wife, is demanding the organ be returned.

Batista claims his wife began having an affair two years after he gave her the kidney.
"I felt humiliated, betrayed, disrespected and disregarded as a person, a man,a husband as a father," said Batista.
An attorney for Batista's wife says, the facts of the now public case, have been misrepresented.
A judge is expected to hear the case within the next few days.

1.5 million....or a kidney.
Tough choice....
Thats pretty sad, but i guess if ur desperate, ull do wat u have 2.
hmmmm, well I guess I would give up a kidney for 1.5 million. Just not my right one. I'm parsial to that one :)
Reminds me of an old saying.... a fool once gave his friend a dollar; now he no longer has that dollar as well as that friend... Even though marriage has a 50 percent chance of ending in a divorce. I applaud this guy's attempt to keep his marriage in shape with the old donate your kidney move....
Ill give the guy my kidney for 1.5 mil if he just wants a kidney
I would give the kidney no questions asked and not just for the money
6th
i wonder which hurt more, recovery from surgery, or a divorce from a wife you donated a kidney to?? hmmm....
talk about a messy divorce...yikes
For some odd reason, this reminds me of "Charlie the Unicorn" who goes to the Candy Mountain and gets his liver taken.. aaaanyways--
I'm just wondering-- would the wife die if she was to give back her husband's kidney?
anje they took his kidney :-P
Wow.
That makes me sad and a bit amused.
But mostly sad...
On the outside looking in, this story would be a comic's dream. The scenario is somewhat sad..but the guy gave up his kidney on account of his oblivious interpretation regarding cost-benefit analysis. But, then again, that's what makes the whole thing funny in the first place.
Wow. What happens if she can't come up with the money? OR what the heck is he going with the organ if he gets it back? I can't help but laugh at this.
I want to know who did the appraisal on the kidney? Are we now pricing organs or blood donations?
kaleb said it all for me. i agree
If this guy can somehow get $1.5 million for his kidney, then i got some body parts i would like to sell.
Wow. That is a really sad way to treat someone even though they wronged against you. No person in the world should be so cruel and desperate to demand a kidney(given as a gift) to someone you cared deeply about, or give them the option of 1.5 million. This man must hold a lot of things against people if this is the way he reacts to a situation such as this one.
Wow that's sad. The husband obviously has good reason to feel hurt and disrespected. However, you should not demand a bodily organ to be returned after the kidney was freely donated to save someone's life.
That's just sad. The wife can either give the kidney back and die or pay him a ridiculous amount of money that she more than likely doesn't even have. What is the world coming to?
I would donate a kidney for $1.5 million. Dr. Barista just wants to make life miserable for his ex.
I don't think that's very good. Ya, he probably feels bad since he gave part of his body so she could live but...really? That's the dumbest thing I've heard. He DONATED his kidney and is now asking for something back that is keeping her alive. Ridiculous
Wow. People are suing for the most rediculous things these days.
People will do anything for a easy buck. The fact that he wanted his kidney back is completely rediculous and dumb.
oh my gosh! that is horrible. no one should ever have to make that decision!
i think the guys being pretty selfish yeah she was wrong but getting his kidney back wont change what happened or make him happy again
Wow... that is extremely selfish!
By the way, that picture is a bit disturbing.
The kidney that he gave his wife became her property as soon as he gave it up. It's almost funny that he would want it back, but i guess people will do anything for money.
$1.5 million dollars is a bad deal. Even with all of the surgery and rehabilitation fees theres no way it could've added up to $1.5 million. Doesn't she need the kidney to live?
wow..thats pretty intense.
but i guess you have to do what you have to do.
He's only asking $1.5 million for the kidney? Is that what he thinks her life is worth?
Hey if someones asking $1.5 million for a kidney I might have an organ or two I could do without.
